Prairie Sisters Comes To Town!

You gotta love it when something as amazing as this comes to town

The Prairie Sisters Vintage Market was at our convention center for a short stay last Saturday. I had been waiting on the edge of my seat for this event to finally roll around! And so had a throng of others

What a visual treat. You literally had to elbow (or at least wait your turn)
to get into the booths. With over 60 vendors, there was something for everyone.

 And super cute decorating ideas!

 And super friendly Prairie Sisters!

And the fantastic girl band

In fact, I had so much fun and there was so much to see, that I had to go back for a second time later in the afternoon. If you ever get the chance to attend one of Prairie Sisters markets, this is a MUST DO! It is a real junk lovin'/vintage lovin' affair.

Next post I'll show you some of the AWESOME glamping trailers that were exhibited at the show.

Catching Up

Here we are into another week of April already. Time can really get away from me. Not that I have such an exciting social life...just everyday living that rolls one day into the next

Of course Easter day has passed. It was a quiet day here with just one of my fledglings and the Hubs at home. We celebrated with our traditional Breakfast Souffle, church service, delicious evening meal, and a cheery, but simple tabletop.
I did a little quickie craft project of decoupaged eggs with a tutorial I found here
Heather did an amazing job of explaining this easy little project. I added the "JOY" label to each egg and gave one to my co-workers.

On Saturday, my youngest fledgling came home for an overnight visit. She was on Spring Break. Our time together was short, but so very sweet. We had a lot of fun at the Prairie Sisters Vintage Market. We brought her boyfriend and the Hubs along to try to get a grasp of the popularity of the "Vintage/Junkin'" trend.

More about that and pictures in my next post. I had the rare weekend off. The weather was great. But alas, this morning I woke up to an inch of snow!
Gotta love that Spring weather. At least I can enjoy the season indoors.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Next post I'll show you what fun I had at the Prairie Sisters Vintage Market.

Company's Coming

Just a quick note today. No time to stitch or knit this morning.  I've got company coming to stay with us this week. Company from down under....
.... down under as in coming from Colorado.

(Sorry about the fuzzy phone pic)

This little man is coming to see his G'ma and G'pa in Montana! Along with his chaperones... his mom and Auntie. Gotta get busy and get ready for the ACTION!!

Occupational Hazards

Oh, yes, there are occupational hazards pertaining to my day job. Who would have thought that my employment in this trade
 would result in stress?

Well, most days are very pleasant, I must say, and I enjoy the surroundings and all the wonderful customers we serve. But, then certain events come around in the calendar year that ramp up all kinds of interesting DRAMA!!

Enter:
 The Prom

I really don't have anything against these events or the kids for that matter After all, I have 5 of mine own (kids, that is), but it can be very intense in a floral business when the local and neighboring high schools hold their Proms all on the same evening. That would be seven schools in our surrounding area. Of course, that puts a lot of pressure on the formal wear shops, the restaurants, the limo rentals, and other related businesses that cater to this kind of venue.

As of Friday morning we had over 900 coursages and boutonnieres ordered for the dances with more to come all day Friday and Saturday, right up to the last minute to rescue those panic stricken "my son forgot to get a corsage for his date" parents.

I give high praises to all of the proven systems, the extreme organization, all of the amazing talented designers and salespeople we have in our business. The team work is OUTSTANDING!! And the product is beautiful!
Yes, it can be somewhat stressful and definitely fast-paced when these occasions roll around, but it is also SO MUCH FUN! The kids are adorable, and for the most part, polite and patient when they rush in all excited to pick up their custom made floral designs.

And then, it's over...back to the typical daily routine of selling God's perfect master piece, the lovely FLOWER.

Wishing you a very beautiful and restful
Sunday

A One-Toe-In-The-Water Moment

This may just be the crossing over point for me. The one-toe-in-the-water moment. The you-just-gotta-get-out-there-and-do-it push. The get-your-big-girl-panties-on, be brave, stop the procrastination train and welcome any who come by to visit the world of The  Morning Stitch!  Readers beware: this is on the job training for me. I'll start by giving you a little glimpse of what makes up my small footprint.

This is what makes me do the happy dance in my soul: Impulse road trips, my grandson's dimple, breve lattes, Dovey's nest outside my kitchen window, knowing the saving grace of my King, The Coffee House station on Sirius XM radio, yards o'delicious yarn!, stacks o'fabulous fabric!, my hero husband, the quiet moments of daybreak, my 5 beautiful God-given gifts, dreaming of the ultimate vintage farmhouse, playing with flowers everyday and calling it work, drawing inspiration from courageous female entrepreneurs, and amazing myself with all of the COLORS and JOY of everyday living.

I humbly invite you to come along with me and be inspired by the daily wonders of this awesome creation we've been given.
